Youth of Khakassia Got the Money for the Implementation of Social and Cultural Projects

The authors of the seven youth projects received cash grants for the implementation of business ideas aimed at the development of social and cultural sphere of the Republic of Khakassia. The public defense of the projects took place on June 28, 2013 as part of the III International Forum “Historico-Cultural Heritage as a Source of Socio-Cultural Development”.

For the first time in three-year history of the Forum, young people took part in it. Students, young entrepreneurs and representatives of public organizations of Khakassia became the participants of the open business projects competition. About 250 people were involved in the work of the youth platform.

They presented about 100 works for the competition. The short-list includes 23 projects on the development of tourist and cultural facilities in Khakassia. Young people offered the development of the virtual tour program of the region, the creation of guides and audio guides for cities of the republic, as well as the production of national souvenirs. In cultural terms they offered to use the existing cultural facilities or build new ones, and to held major cultural festivals. The projects took into account very different audiences. So one of the project ideas were devoted to the equipment of ecological trail and the development of tour for people with disabilities.

The section was moderated by Arthur Ghukasyan, professor at London Metropolitan University, Ph.D. in the field of arts management and cultural policy (Armenia, Yerevan).

“Cultural projects are very different from projects in other subjects. The European Cultural Foundation get around thousands of project applications every day. And it's important to interest the experts at the first stage of selection. Otherwise, even the most brilliant ideas can be unclaimed,”- said Arthur Ghukasyan.

At the end of the competition, the authors of the three best projects received cash awards for the implementation of their own ideas. 50,000 rubles grant was presented to student Anastasia Krayder, the author of a large-scale project of Harachhay yurta town. According to her idea the all-season ethnic area should be arranged in Ust-Abakan region of Khakassia, it has to offer the guests many types of cultural activities: photo shoot in traditional costumes, playing folk instruments, sightseeing tours and much more. The second place jury gave to Tatiana Kopyatina, the author of the “On the streets of your favourite city by electrical deer” project. The participant suggested to put on the streets of Abakan the so-called art-trolley, like the “Reading trolley” in Irkutsk and “Musical trolley” in Krasnoyarsk. The idea got 75,000 rubles for the implementation. The first place and a grant of 100,000 rubles was given to the “Promotion of the region through the national Khakass tradition of woodworking” project.
