Yandex.Mail for Modern Life

At its dawn the electronic mail was used almost just like the regular snail mail – for a relaxed exchange of written messages. Today, the email service is the point of access to a wealth of all sorts of personal information. Now, in addition to text, there are also multimedia formats, and along with personal emails, users receive notifications from social networking sites, emails from online stores, mailing list messages etc. The updated version of Yandex.Mail embraces the recent developments. For example, Yandex.Mail users now can play an audio or video file right in the email.

As the uses of electronic mail continue to expand, the amount of email stored in users’ accounts is growing. The new Yandex.Mail now features special tools for dealing with the large amount of mixed mail – grouping emails into conversation threads, tagging, marking notifications from networking services. Advanced settings allow users to customize their Yandex.Mail account – select the color for their mailbox, for instance. And to help users configure different email clients to access Yandex.Mail, the service has started testing IMAP access.

As before, users’ accounts in Yandex.Mail are protected by Spamooborona, Yandex’s proprietary anti-spam technology.
