Internet, October 2, 2007. Today, Yandex has introduced a customized search engine specifically for its Ukrainian users. Search queries that originate from the Ukraine, display results that prioritize Ukrainian web sites in their search results. In addition, the Yandex search interface at www.yandex.ua has been translated into the Ukrainian language.

Internet, September 28, 2007. Yandex’s social networking service, MoiKrug, announced today that it has registered its one millionth user. Since being acquired by Yandex in March 2007, the number of users on MoiKrug has more than quadrupled.

Moscow, September 26, 2007. Yandex now features detailed satellite maps of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region on its Yandex.Maps application. Users who enter an address in the search field of Yandex.Maps will see a view from space of their house, street, and other locations in the Northern Capital.

Moscow, September 20, 2007. Admission board of the Yandex School of Data Analysis formed the first group of students. After competitive examination 80 applicants became students of the Yandex school.

Internet, September 18, 2007. Yandex announced that it has increased the basic storage capacity of the user accounts on its email service Yandex.Mail from 20 MB to 10 GB. Users will now be able to store more than 3 million regular emails.

Internet, September 17, 2007. Now, the new version of Yandex.Images finds 1.5 times more pictures. The new improved algorithm makes it possible to analyze web pages better and retrieves more information about images.

Internet, September 14, 2007. Yandex issued a free spam filter for corporate email. Spamooborona 1024 will help small companies receiving hundreds of emails every day to filter out unwanted mail.

Moscow, September 12, 2007. Yandex launched a new data center with 3 thousand servers. Company's fourth 2 MW powered data center takes the area of 2,000 square meters.

Internet, September 7, 2007. Yandex released information bulletin "Online payments in Russia". The analysis is based on the data from Yandex.Money, one of the popular payment systems in Russia.

Internet, September 4, 2007. Today, Yandex.Maps has launched a mobile application. Now all Yandex.Maps options, like house and street search, traffic jams in Moscow, satellite view are accessible through mobile phones. Installing mobile maps is as easy as downloading a game or a ringtone: all you need to do is to enter http://m.ya.ru on your phone and to download the application.

Internet, August 31, 2007. Right before the Day of Knowledge - September 1, the day the school year starts - Yandex launched school.yandex.ru, the homepage for schoolchildren. Largely, the goal of the project is to provide all school students and their teachers with a convenient internet entry.

Internet, August 27, 2007. Yandex launches email service for smartphones, communicators, and PDAs. The service is compatible with all modern types of mobile browsers. Gadget owners will experience a «compact» email service at the usual address mail.yandex.ru (or, yet shorter, mail.ya.ru), and for those who use a regular browser, the service is available at pda.mail.ya.ru.

Internet, August 23, 2007. Yandex.Direct started open testing of Yandex user behavioural targeting. The new technology will allow the users to see mostly the ads that they are interested in, and the advertisers will be able to pinpoint their target audience.

Internet, August 1, 2007. Yandex starts open testing of the new, tenth version of their homepage today. Anyone interested can find out what Yandex will look like in the near future at next.yandex.ru.

Moscow, July 25, 2007. Yandex, Russia's largest Internet portal and search engine, today announced the opening of the Yandex School of Data Analysis, a two-year Master’s-level program led by Dr. Ilya Muchnik, Ph.D., a world class scientist and professor of computer science at Rutgers University.

The analysis is based on data from Yandex.Direct, the first and the largest system for context advertising in Runet. The data cover the period from January 2006 to June 2007. Internet, July 2, 2007. Today users of MoiKrug service at Yandex became full members of Vedomosti newspaper Readers Club. Now anybody who has an account at MoiKrug can access all options of the newspaper's website, including discussion boards, without having to have a new registration at www.vedomosti.ru.

Internet, May 24, 2007. Yandex.Direct, context ad placement system, started accepting instant payments from Ukrainian webusers. From date, any advertiser, who has installed a ”wallet”-programme from Internet.Money payment system, can pay with hryvni for advertising campaign at Yandex, and at the websites participating in the Yandex Advertising Network.
