Internet, April 2, 2008. Today Yandex launched map search for the largest Ukrainian cities with population in excess of 1m people. In addition to Kiev and Odessa, Yandex.Maps users now can look up street addresses in Kharkov, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Lviv and Zaporizhia.

Internet, March 31, 2008. Yandex.Money, our proprietary online payment system, now offers a new method to top up e-accounts or withdraw funds using banking cards. Russian Development Bank (RDB) is the first to offer the new service to its customers.

Internet, March 27, 2008. Yandex offers Kaspersky Anti-Virus software for free to all web users. Anyone can get free protection from virus and malware downloading the Ya.Online (I’m.Online) program now featuring with the Kaspersky anti-virus module. The program is available for download here.

Internet, March 20, 2008. Today, Yandex rolled out advanced blog search. Yandex users can now find all posts or comments from Russian-speaking bloggers in a specific city, region or country.

Internet, March 18, 2008. Yandex is now providing traffic maps for three capitals: Moscow, Kiev and Saint Petersburg. Starting today, residents of Saint Petersburg can plan their trips around the city using Yandex.Maps, just like residents of Moscow or Kiev.

Internet, March 6, 2008. Yandex has launched “Kiev Traffic”, the first traffic monitoring service in the Ukrainian Internet. Now anyone who drives in Kiev can check traffic before hitting the road and avoid congestions.

Internet, February 28, 2007. Yandex can now find books by ISBN (International Standard Book Number). Now each book on Yandex.Market has an identifier – a webpage with publisher information and the book’s listings in online shops. Now books can be looked up by ISBN through Yandex search.

Internet, February 20, 2008. The ads that Yandex serves on the pages of websites participating in the Yandex Advertising Network become more targeted. Now Yandex.Direct, the ad serving system, can serve ads based not only on the website content, but also on user interests.

Internet, December 20, 2007. Yandex today announces the release of a new mobile application Yandex.Fotki. Anyone who owns a smartphone or communicator with inbuilt camera can now upload their picture on the Yandex.Fotki photo-hosting service at one single click. The new application supports Symbian and Windows Mobile.

Moscow, Russia, December 18, 2007. Yandex, Russia’s most popular search engine, announced today that Nilesh Lakhani has been named the company’s chief financial officer.

Internet, December 19, 2007. Starting today, Yandex users can find their way not only in the city, but also underground. Now, Yandex offers metro map search for all cities on the Yandex.Maps service, which have a metro system. Users in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Kiev can also plan their route and calculate the time of travel.

Internet, December 13, 2007. Today Yandex has held the final round of Russia’s Eighth Annual Open Search Cup. The title of “The Person Who Found Everything” went to 27-year-old Denis Fursov from Saint Petersburg.

Internet, December 11, 2007. Yandex announced today that its Yandex.Images service is now able to search for images beyond the bounds of the Russian Internet. Yandex users can now view more search results for queries in most European languages thanks to a new partnership with Picsearch, image and multimedia search provider.

Moscow, December 10, 2007. Yandex today announced the launch of the Yandex Local Network Program. Through this program, Yandex intends to rent dedicated channels and place its networking equipment in all federal regions of Russia. As a result, Yandex will become a local resource for most of the Russian Web users and will be able to decrease the cost of traffic while increasing the download speed for all Yandex services.

Internet, November 27, 2007. Yandex announced today that Yandex.Market, the Yandex comparison shopping system, started to display user reviews of participating online shops. Now, the user reviews are available to all visitors of the service.
