To use this feature, a user only has to hover the mouse pointer over an unfamiliar word and get instant translation as a tooltip — not a single useless movement. The new Yandex.bar version is available for download at http://bar.yandex.ru.

Internet, November 19, 2009. Yandex users in Ukraine can now choose between Russian or Ukrainian languages when using Yandex. Starting today, yandex.ru visitors in Ukraine will automatically be redirected to yandex.ua with all its services localized for the Ukrainian market.

Now, in addition to the picture of traffic in the whole city, anyone who lives in Moscow or Moscow region and drives a car can have their own personal traffic informer right on Yandex’s front page. This informer shows traffic patterns on a user’s individual commute route.

Yandex offers domain owners an opportunity to create an electronic mail account with any name they choose, including their personal name, as in [email protected] or [email protected]. Using Yandex’s email service for domain owners, anyone who owns a domain can now create an email account for themselves, as well as accounts for their family, friends or co-workers, and share a personalized domain name with them.

Internet, October 12, 2009. Yandex releases a new, location-specific search platform, Arzamas, in 19 cities of Russia. Search results returned in response to location-specific user queries, are based on the user’s location.

Яндекс ввел новый оператор поиска – inurl="url", который позволяет искать страницы, URL которых содержит заданный фрагмент.
